State Police Investigate New Lebanon Barn Fire

PRESS RELEASE

 

On 12/15/17 at 12:06 am Columbia County 911 dispatched the Lebanon Valley Fire Department Task Force to a reported barn fire at 316 Old Gale Hill Rd., New Lebanon, bringing fire fighters from New Lebanon, East Chatham, Canaan and Red Rock Fire Departments.

New York State Police from the New Lebanon barracks responded to the scene to assist.

The agricultural storage barn was fully involved with fire upon the arrival of Troopers.  There were no animals in the barn.  There was a total loss of the hay and equipment stored within the barn.

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation out SP Livingston along with the Columbia County Fire Cause and Origin Team commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire.  The entire incident is pending investigation at this time, however the fire appears to be accidental.
