PRESS RELEASE

 

Kinderhook, New York – On November 22, 2017, at approximately 7:58 PM, the New York State Police investigated a fatal two car motor vehicle collision on State Route 9 near Birch Drive in the town of Kinderhook.

Preliminary investigation suggests a southbound vehicle operated by Alicia M. Fernandez, entered the opposing lane and struck a northbound vehicle.

Alicia M. Fernandez, age 41, of Hudson, NY, was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The State Police were assisted on scene by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Niverville Fire Department, Valatia Rescue Squad, and Life Net.

This investigation remains ongoing by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation of SP Livingston and the State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
