Bedford, New York – On November 2, 2017, the New York State Police arrested Carlos H. Martinez Lazaro, age 37, of Bedford, for Driving While Intoxicated with a Previous Conviction within 10 years, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, both Class E Felonies, Bail Jumping in the 3rd Degree, and Use of a Vehicle Without an Interlock Device, both Class A Misdemeanors.

Troopers patrolled to Banksville-Bedford Road in the Town of Bedford at approximately 5:00 PM, to continue an active bench warrant investigation for Martinez Lazaro.  Troopers observed Martinez Lazaro operating a motor vehicle in violation of Vehicle and Traffic laws and initiated a traffic stop.  Troopers took Martinez Lazaro into custody, and found he was intoxicated while being suspended for his previous Driving While Intoxicated conviction.

Martinez Lazaro was issued the appropriate Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the Town of Bedford Justice Court on November 29, 2017, at 7:30 PM, and then arraigned before the Village of Brewster Justice Court for the active bench warrant.  Martinz Lazaro was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $1,000 bond, and scheduled to appear before the Village of Brewster Justice Court on November 13, 2017, at 4:30 PM.
