New York State Police in Catskill arrest Athens man on numerous drug charges

On October 31, 2017, the New York State Police at Catskill arrested ANTHONY M. BEAU, age 41, of Athens, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree (a B felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree (a C felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree (a D felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree (a D felony), four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree (A misdemeanors), and Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 5th degree (a B misdemeanor).

The arrest was the result of a month long investigation into the drug sales in the Catskill/Athens area. State Police executed a search warrant at BEAU’s residence which revealed him to be in possession of over 5 grams of crack-cocaine, heroin, suboxone, oxycodone, alprazolam, marihuana, concentrated cannabis and an expandable stun baton. BEAU was arraigned in the Town of Athens court and remanded to Greene County Jail with no bail.

The New York State Police were assisted in this investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Greene County District Attorney’s office and The Village of Catskill Police Dept.
