Clermont, New York – On November 1, 2017 the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Daniel A. Karcher, age 41, for Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree, a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 1st Degree, a Class C Felony, Unlawfully Growing Cannabis, Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon with Intent to Use Against Another Person, all Class A Misdemeanors, Lehone J. Karcher Jr., age 48, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 1st Degree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis, both Class A Misdemeanors, Eileen A. Karcher, age 68, Cody L. Karcher, age 23, Daniel A. Karcher Jr., age 18, and Sara A. Karcher, age 17, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 1st Degree, a Class C Felony, and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On October 31, 2017, the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in conjunction with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, commenced an investigation into a series of crimes being committed at 3 Cedar Hill Road, Town of Clermont.  The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at the residence.

State Police seized numerous illegal weapons, heroin, marijuana plants and over 10 pounds of processed marijuana packaged for sale.

All defendants were arraigned in the Town of Greenport Court in front of the Honorable Victoria Hill and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
