Alma Alvina Edmonds of Gaylordsville, CT, passed away Sunday October 29, 2017 in Candlewood Valley Health Care Center in New Milford, CT, at the age of 97.
She was born March 21, 1920 in Wingdale, NY, daughter of the late Eli and Hattie (Woodin) Aldrich. Mrs. Edmonds lived most of her life in Gaylordsville and was the treasurer and one of the original members of the Little Red School House board in Gaylordsville.
Mrs. Edmonds was predeceased by her husband Nelson W. Edmonds in September of 1985. She is survived by her son Nelson W. Edmonds Jr. of Gaylordsville, CT, grandchildren Alan Edmonds and his wife Darlene of Arlington, TX, granddaughter Katie Ducey and her husband Michael of Gaylordsville, CT, four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thank the staff at Candlewood Valley for the care they gave Alma.
A funeral service will be held on Friday November 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Interment will follow in Morningside Cemetery in Gaylordsville. Calling hours will be held Thursday November 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
