PRESS RELEASE

Poughkeepsie, New York – On October 21, 2017 the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Adam M. Roberts, age 24, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, a Class C Felony.

On October 16, 2017 Troopers investigated a one car personal injury automobile crash on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Lagrange.  Roberts was northbound on that Taconic State Parkway en route to Poughkeepsie from New York City, and stated he fell asleep at the wheel.  Roberts’ vehicle went off the roadway and struck a rock embankment.  Roberts was transported to Mid Hudson Regional with severe trauma injuries.  Hospital staff providing care for Roberts found heroin on his person and notified the State Police.  On October 21, 2017 after sufficiently recovering from his injuries Roberts was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree for possessing approximately ten grams of Heroin.

Roberts was arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
