PRESS RELEASE
Poughkeepsie, New York – On October 17, 2017, the State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Jose Merced, age 33, of Poughkeepsie, for Grand Larceny in the 3rdDegree, a Class D Felony, and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.

Merced collected unemployment insurance benefits in the amount of $8,500.00 from the New York State Department of Labor while gainfully employed.

Merced was arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,500 bond.  Merced is next scheduled to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Court on October 18, 2017, at 9:00AM.
