Enoch Crosby Chapter Daughters of The American Revolution at State Conference

 

Carmel, NY– The Enoch Crosby Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution members attended the 121st New York State Conference at The Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown, NY.  Members were able to enjoy guest speakers during lunch and dinner with the Keynote address on Saturday night being presented by Denise Doring VanBuren, member of New York’s Melezingah Chapter and First Vice President General of the National Society, gave a program on the history of women and the relevance of the DAR Mission in today’s world. Workshops on patriotism, historic preservation and education were available for all attendees to learn more about how the Enoch Crosby Chapter, can bring the DAR’s mission to the Putnam County.  The Enoch Crosby Chapter is also proud to celebrate the accomplishments of the following Chapter members and their service to the New York State Organization at this State Conference. Jenn Pollack, Chapter Regent, served as a Personal Page to the State Regent and as State Chair of the Public Relations Special Committee for Public Relations, she also lead a discussion about PR at the State Membership workshop Alyssa Mattera, Chapter Recording Secretary, is Co- Chairman of the State Page Committee with her sister and Associate member, Michelle Mattera, and managed 37 Pages, raising $3,700 for the Page Club.

Jennifer Malara, Chapter Chair of the American Heritage Committee and State Organizing Secretary, reported on the health of the State’s 129 Chapters and, as President of the Cameo Club, a Social Club within the State Organization that celebrates Mother/daughter members, hosted a cocktail party to raise awareness about sponsored programs;

Libby Baker, Chapter Librarian and State Chair of Genealogical Records, displayed the practice and purpose of preserving valuable documents in the Grand Hall.

Deb Keesler, Chapter Vice Regent and CAR (Children of the American Revolution) Senior State American History Chairman worked with State Officers to create materials for membership initiatives and managed the CAR informational table in the Grand Hall.

Debbie Malanchuk, Chapter Treasurer, gathered information from the State Treasurer’s workshop to maintain excellence in the Chapter’s financial management.

As well Chapter members Nancy Riley, Jeanine and Karen Shirmer, and Carol Bailey all attended, events throughout the weekend, and the Enoch Crosby Chapter was excited to be the Chapter with the third largest attendance at the Conference.

 The NSDAR is open to all women, ages 18 and older, who have a direct line to a Patriot who served in the American Revolution.  Genealogists are available to help those seeking membership with their applications.
