Somers, New York – On October 15, 2017 the New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested Ardijan Taraku, age 38, of Scarsdale, NY, for Assault in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On October 15, 2017, at approximately 3:15 AM, Troopers received a report of an assault victim at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut.  The New York State Police investigation found that the victim was assaulted by a co-worker at a restaurant in Somers, NY.  It is alleged that during a physical altercation that occurred behind the restaurant building, Taraku stabbed the victim multiple times with a wine bottle opener.

Taraku was arraigned before the Town of Somers Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.
