SP Wappinger – Poughkeepsie man arrested for Criminal Contempt 1st

On September 16, 2017, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Hakim M. Muhammad, age 32, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.
On September 16, 2017, at about 10:00 AM, Troopers responded for the report of a fight in progress on West Merritt Blvd in the Town of Fishkill. An investigation revealed that Hakim Muhammad violated an Order of Protection by starting a physical altercation with the protected party. The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Town of Fishkill Police Department.
Muhammad was arraigned at the Town of Fishkill Justice Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond. If waived Muhammad is scheduled to appear before the Town of Fishkill Justice Court on September 20, 2017, at 9:00 AM.
