Obituary, David Lysko

 

POUGHKEEPSIE – David Lysko, a lifetime resident of the Hudson Valley, died September 7, 2017 at Vassar Brother Medical Center in Poughkeepsie NY, at the age of 62. David was the beloved husband of 27 years to Traci Lysko and the cherished father to Nichole Lysko and Kathryn Lysko. David was born to John Lysko, Sr. and June Lysko (deceased) on July 19, 1955. He is predeceased by his brother John Lysko Jr., and is survived by his sisters Deborah Hoch, Elizabeth Avello, Laurie Flynn and her husband Patrick, and Christine King and her husband James. Along with his immediate family, David had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles as well as his wife’s family whom he loved dearly. David was known for his love of his family and friends and animals. His favorite times were spent with his wife and children, reading a good book, and relaxing on the beach at Cape Cod. David worked at IBM in Fishkill and retired in 2009 after 30 years of service. Most recently he was employed at Package Pavement in Stormville, NY.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 13th from 4pm to 8pm at  371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Services will be held Thursday September 14th at 10am in the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Dutchess County SPCA to honor David’s lifetime love of animals.

What manner of man was he who lies peacefully at rest? How did he live? What did he leave to those who loved him best? A grand estate? Wealth and Power? Precious Jewels? – No; He left a treasure of priceless deeds and thoughts that will perpetually live and glow.
