Obituary, Robert Francis Speckman

 

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Robert Francis Speckman, 74, an area resident since 1973, died on August 31, 2017 at his home.

Born in the Bronx on December 7, 1942, he was the son of William and Catherine (Cullen) Speckman. Bob was employed as a Steamfitter with Local #638 in New York City. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church. An avid golfer, Bob worked at the Beekman Country Club as a starter and ranger.

On September 18, 1965 at St. Margaret’s Church in Riverdale, Bob married Elinor Gaffney. In addition to his devoted wife, he is also survived by his loving daughters, Ann Marie Speckman of Fishkill, and Suzanne Townson and her husband Jeff of Dover Plains; his cherished grandsons, James and Jason Townson; his six brothers and their spouses, William and Lily, Jack and Verna, Edward, Thomas and Claudia, Daniel and Dawn, and James and Nuris Speckman; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5pm at 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in St. Denis Cemetery on Tuesday morning.
