Fishkill woman charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs

East Fishkill, New York – On August 2, 2017, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Ferne M. Peterson, age 55, of Fishkill, New York, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Class E Felony.

At approximately 8:21 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to a one-car collision that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway.  Peterson was traveling southbound in a 2006 Jeep when she lost control of her vehicle and struck the guide rail.  A subsequent investigation revealed that Peterson was impaired by drugs at the time of the crash.

Peterson was charged with felony DWAI-Drugs when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from 2012.

The defendant was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Justice Court on August 23, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
