Livingston, New York – On July 19, 2017 at approximately 6:50 a.m., New York State Police from the Livingston barracks were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to a three car motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of State Route 9 and County Route 31.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling eastbound on CR 31 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Route 9.  The Cavalier subsequently collided with a 2017 Hyundai traveling northbound on State Route 9. The Cavalier overturned and struck a vehicle parked in the Xtra Mart gas station.

The Hyundai’s operator and passenger were transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

An occupant of the Cavalier, a 40-year-old Hudson resident, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased by responding paramedics.

The crash remains under investigation.  The State Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the SP Livingston Bureau of Criminal Investigation by calling (845) 677-7300.
