Stuyvesant Burglary Investigation Leads to Arrest

On 6/30/17 Troop K State Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in Stuyvesant, NY. Upon arrival Troopers located Law who appeared to have a minor injury to the head and claimed to have been attacked by an assailant that broke into her home.
This 911 call summoned an immediate response of numerous State Police resources including the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Uniformed Troopers, State Police K9 and Crime Scene Technicians.
It was reported that shortly before 430 pm on 6/30/17 Ms. Law returned to her home in Stuyvesant and when she entered her home she was attacked by an intruder that was within the home.
The extensive investigation that pursued, lead by Investigator Dustin Gardinier, following this report not only did not reveal any evidence of an intruder, but in fact revealed evidence that Ms. Law had made the report up.
On 7/2/17 Law was arrested and charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. She was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to Town Court on July 12 at 6:00 pm.
