DCC Professor’s Physics Book Published

June 27, 2017 – An introductory book about Physics written by Dutchess Community College associate professor Renee Lathrop has just been published by NetPub Education.

“A Little Bit of Physics” uses simple, everyday examples to give high school and college students new to the subject the tools they need to understand the concepts of physics. Many of the resources and teaching strategies captured in the book were developed by Lathrop during an almost 15-year career teaching physics at DCC.

“I’ve always had the firm belief that anyone can learn physics,” said Lathrop. “This resource makes it easier for the student learning physics for the first time to grasp some of the more important details.”

Lathrop holds a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Psychology from Marist College.
