Fatal hit and run Accident investigation on the New York State Thruway in Rockland County

      The New York State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on the New York State Thruway in Rockland County. On Sunday morning, at approximately 4:00 AM, PAUL PEACOCK, age 54, from New York City, was stuck by an unknown vehicle, most likely a tractor trailer, while walking on the NY State Thruway southbound near the Ramapo Rest Area.  It is unclear why Peacock was walking on the Thruway at the time of the collision and the vehicle involved failed to stop at the accident scene.  The Investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has information is asked to contact the NY State Police at (845) 364-9424.
