PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police at Monroe announce the arrest of Kareem X. Brown, age 25,  following a search warrant at his residence on Greenwood Drive in Goshen, NY.  The State Police and Town of Goshen Police received complaints from people who purchased Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge cell phones from Brown through Craigslist.com and Offerup.com  These phones turned out to be counterfeit cell phones that would not work as described.  “Knock Off” cell phones are becoming problems where consumers are unaware that their “less expensive find” online will not work once connected through their cell phone provider.  State Police advise that if you have been a victim from Brown in Goshen, NY to contact the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Monroe for assistance at 845-782-8311.  The State Police were assisted by the Town of Goshen Police Department and Orange County District Attorney’s Office.  Brown to be arraigned at the Town of Goshen Court.
