Obituary, Howard Edward Stephens

 

 

AMENIA – Howard Edward Stephens, 64, a lifelong area resident, died on March 23, 2017.

Born in Cold Spring on November 12, 1952, he was the son of the late Harold and Viola (Fleming) Stephens. Howie was employed as a conductor with Metro North Railroad until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of the Algonkin Archers, and he loved volunteering with Equus Effect. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent much time shooting his bow, fishing, boating and biking.

Howie is survived by his children, Suzanne Cook and husband Donald of Greenville, NC, and Jonathan Stephens and fiancé Adriana Castano of Craryville; his grandchildren, Cody Stephens, Jackson and Lindsey Cook; his spiritual sister, Christine Goulding; his siblings, Richard Stephens (his twin brother) and wife Colleen of Loveland, CO, Kathleen Stephens Thiebeault and husband Brad of Coxsackie, David Stephens and wife Kathleen of Cheyenne, WY, Karen Harrington and fiancé Wayne Davis of Bennington, VT, Donald Stephens and wife Elizabeth of Clarkson, KY, Kimberly O’Donnell and husband John of Hopewell Junction, and Earl Stephens of Coxsackie; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at  895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will follow at 7pm.
