Obituary, George H. Pilch

 

George H. Pilch of New Milford, CT, passed away Wednesday March 22, 2017 at Danbury Hospital at the age of 58.


He was born September 11, 1958 in Sharon, CT, son of Emmie (Leibhart) Pilch of Danbury, CT and the late George Pilch. He grew up in Pine Plains, NY and graduated from Pine Plains Central High School in 1976. In 1979 he joined the Navy and served for four years. He married Judy Paradise on October 19, 1991 at St. Gregory’s Church in Danbury, CT. They lived in the Danbury area before moving to New Milford in 1995. Mr. Pilch was a truck driver for R.T. Layton in New Milford, CT, for the past ten years. He loved all types of tractors and had many models and full size farm tractors and mowers. He also took pride in landscaping his property and loved any opportunity to use his tractors to help out his neighbors.


In addition to his wife Judy and his mother Emmie he is survived by his three sons: Christopher Mitchell of VA, Brett Porter of AZ and Michael Porter of NY; his grandson Hudson Porter; his sister Kathy Blackburn and her husband Alfred of Pine Plains, NY and many nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday March 27, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford, CT at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery in New Milford. Calling hours will be Sunday March 26, 2017 at 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
