Joyce G McMichael

Craryville, NY – Joyce G. McMichael, 86, of Snydertown Road, formerly of Amenia, NY, died March 14 at her home. She was the wife of Al McMichael. Joyce was predeceased by John Parrotte on February 5, 1986.

Joyce was born on March 4, 1931 in St Albans, Vermont, the daughter of the late Albert and Jesse (Dennis) Button. For many years she was a therapy aid for Wassaic DDSO. She also cleaned houses around the tri-state area. Joyce was an avid square dancer, excellent baker, and loved to do ceramics.

Besides her husband Al, Joyce is survived by 4 daughters, Carol Stearns, Mary Milnik, Deborah Andrus, and Susan Wilcox; along with 2 sons, Arthur Parrotte and Thomas Parrotte. She is survived by 5 brothers;  Richard Button, William Button, Lawrence Button, James Button, David Button, and a sister Molly Berry.  She leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren who all called her “Mimi”. Her kindness, smile, and laughter will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be celebrated at the Amenia Island Cemetery on April 29th at 1 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Craryville Fire Department.
