He was born on January 30, 1936 in Brooklyn a son of the late John Joseph and Ruth Mary (Carroll) Richards. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1967.
On May 3, 1967 in Texas he was united in marriage to Priscilla M. Ryan a blessed union of over 49 years. Mrs. Richards predeceased him, on May 8, 2016.
He was a bus driver for Arlington Central School district and a General Administrator for the Roosevelt Presidential Library in Hyde Park, NY and then later in life, a special needs bus driver for First Student in Millbrook, NY.
Mr. Richards was an avid Ham Radio Operator.
He is survived by his only daughter, Donna (Healy) and her husband Chris, of Holland Patent, NY, two sons, Kevin and Keith Donohue of Pleasant Valley, NY. He also leaves three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren all of LaGrange. He leaves his brothers, Kenneth Richards of New Jersey and Harry and William Pierson of Florida, both formerly from LaGrange NY and a brother-in-law, John (Jack) Ryan and his wife Marina, also of LaGrange, NY.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home Holland Patent, NY
