Brooklyn woman charged with entering Fishkill Correctional Facility with drugs

PRESS RELEASE
Fishkill, New York – On March 5, 2017, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Evelyn Jimenez, age 47, of Brooklyn, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, a Class D Felony, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

An investigation revealed that Jimenez brought suboxone and synthetic marihuana into the Fishkill Correctional Facility with the intent to provide it to an inmate.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

Jimenez was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Chase in the Village of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.  She is due to appear in the Town of Fishkill Court on March 7, 2017.
