State Police in Wappinger charge Florida man with rape

Fishkill, New York – On February 23, 2017, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Matthew D. Walder, age 38, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, for 10 counts of Rape in the Third Degree, Class E Felonies.
An investigation revealed that, between September of 2016 and January of 2017, Walder had a sexual relationship with the female victim who is under the age of 17.
Walder was arraigned at the Town of Fishkill Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail. Walder’s next appearance was scheduled for February 28, 2017, at 1:00 PM.
