INVITATION TO BID

Town of Pawling, New York

PROJECT NAME: DAM REPAIRS,

WHALEY LAKE DAM BID OPENING DATE: March 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM 1.

You are invited to bid on a general contract for construction described as follows:

The Work includes removing the existing spillway and constructing a new concrete spillway, installing a new lowlevel outlet and drawdown chamber, installing a filter blanket and riprap buttress, clearing overgrown vegetation and trees and raising the dam crest to a uniform elevation.

2. The Town of Pawling, New York will receive sealed proposals from bidders until 10:00 AM on the bid opening date shown above in the offices of the Town Clerk, at the Pawling Town Hall, 160 Charles Colman Blvd., Pawling, NY 12564. Proposals received after that time will not be accepted. All interested parties are invited to attend. Proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud.

3. Bid and contract documents are available at the Town Clerk’s Office in the Town Hall. No packages will be available at the site showing.

4. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on March 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Representatives of Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. and the Town will meet prospective bidders at the Whaley Lake Dam site for the purpose of conducting a site inspection. Bid proposals from any prospective bidder not preregistered and in attendance at the pre-bid meeting will not be received or opened by the Town. Prospective bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Contract or bid documents will not be made available at the pre-bid meeting or thereafter for the purpose of bidding.

5. As security, each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, in the form included in the Contract Documents and having surety thereto such Surety Company or Companies as are authorized to do business in the State of New York, in the amount of 10% of the Total Bid Price. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical defects or irregularities.

6. Bidders must be able to demonstrate recent successful experience, overall qualifications, and all other criteria required with the type of work as described in this bid package. Bidders must also list the specific personnel possessing that experience and their intent to employ these same personnel for this project. This information is required in the Qualifications of Bidder Section 00461. The Town reserves the right to reject any bidders who lack sufficient recent experience with the type of work required for this project.

7. The information for bidders, drawings, specifications and other contract documents may be reviewed or purchased for a fee of one hundred fifty dollars and no cents for a hard copy ($150.00) OR a thumb drive is available for twenty five dollars and no cents ($25.00). Prospective bidders should see Section 00200 of the Contract Documents for Instructions to Bidders.
