Woman Dies in East Fishkill House Fire.
On Saturday, February 11, at 7:04 pm the East Fishkill Fire Department was dispatched for a house fire at 374 Augusta Dr. in Hopewell Jct. Upon arrival of an East Fishkill Police Officer, She reported the house was heavily consumed by fire. The officer located two occupants of the house, a 47 year old man and his 17 year old son. Both resided on the lower level of the house. The homeowner, a 52 year old woman was believed to be home at the time but was not located outside. The East Fishkill Fire Department was assisted by a number of neighboring departments. Once the fire was brought under control and when searching the house they located the woman who did not survive. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The Fire is under investigation by the East Fishkill Fire and Dutchess County Fire Investigation teams along with East Fishkill Police Detectives and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office. The home was a total loss. The other occupants of the house are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
