Obituary, Eleanor Viola Blake

 

Eleanor Viola Blake, 83, a long-time resident of Pawling, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 in Danbury Hospital, Danbury, CT.

Coming to Pawling from Long Island, she was born in the Bronx on March 18, 1933, and was the daughter of William and Eleanor (Swan) Silleck. Eleanor was a clerical worker for Grumman Aircraft in Bethpage, NY, and when she retired, she met George W. Blake, Jr. and they were married; he predeceased her on May 12, 2005.
Eleanor loved feeding the many birds that lived around her house.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Schell and his wife, Barbara, of Levittown, NY and her daughter, Laura Leuchtmann and her husband, Robert, of Wantagh, NY; five grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, and Olivia Schell and Pamela and Jessica Leuchtmann; and her great-granddaughter, Sophia.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Monday, February 6th 3-6 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday at 2PM, followed by burial in Pawling Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Eleanor may be made to the Lutheran Church of Christ the King, 14 Pine Drive, Pawling, NY 12564.
