Fishkill Man Arrested In Poughkeepsie

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Matthew L. Garcia (24 yoa) of Fishkill, NY for numerous misdemeanor charges on the evening of Tuesday January 24, 2016 in the City of Poughkeepsie.
Garcia who was operating a 2007 Kia was stopped on Main St for license plate violations.  Upon being stopped Garcia fled on foot and shortly after was taken into custody nearby with the assistance of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
He was subsequently charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, Operating with a Suspended Registration & Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd (having 17 active suspensions) all misdemeanors as well as other traffic infractions.

Matthew Garcia was processed and later released to the custody of the New York State Police who held an active warrant for his arrest.
