Theodora “Teddy” Petropulos passed away at her home in Kingston, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 92.
Formerly a resident of Poughquag for many years, she was born in St. Paul, MN on May 27, 1924, and was the daughter of Christ and Marika (Gianniou) Andrews. She received her Bachelor Degree from the University of Minnesota and was a past member of the Minnesota Music Club.
Theodora was a concert pianist and opera singer, singing for more than five years in Italy, and at the Metropolitan Opera House for 20 years.
In 1975 she married Stephen Petropulos who owned and operated Star Video in Pawling for many years. He predeceased her on April 9, 2005.
She is survived by her adopted family, Maurvelyn Williams and Maurvelyn’s family of Kingston, where she has made her home for the last four years, and many, many friends.
Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 11 AM to 12 noon, at which time a service will be conducted. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Beekman Cemetery, Beekman Road, Poughquag, NY at 1 PM.
