Newburgh woman charged with entering Fishkill Correctional Facility with drugs

PRESS RELEASE
Fishkill, New York – On January 8, 2017, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Brittany D. Shay, age 39, of Newburgh, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5thDegree, both Class D Felonies.An investigation revealed that Shay brought suboxone into the Fishkill Correctional Facility with the intent to provide it to an inmate.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

Shay was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Romig in the Town of East Fishkill Court and released on her own recognizance.  She is due to appear in the Town of Fishkill Court on January 11, 2017.
