Stanford, New York – On January 5, 2017, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks charged Bryan K. Roe, 26 years old, of Pleasant Valley, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, a Class D Felony, and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class E Felony.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a roadway obstruction on Route 82 in the area of Salt Point Turnpike.  A northbound pick-up truck was directed to stop for police as they removed a fallen tree from the roadway. The vehicle failed to stop for the Troopers and struck the obstruction.

Troopers located the truck on Sisters Hill Road and conducted a traffic stop.  The driver of the pick-up truck, Roe, was observed throwing a plastic bag from the driver’s side window of the vehicle just prior to stopping for police.  An investigation revealed that the bag contained cocaine.

Roe was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court before Town Justice Sears and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is due to appear in the Town of Stanford Court at a later date and time.
