Mount Pleasant, New York – On January 4, 2017, Troopers patrolling the Taconic State Parkway observed the State Park Police out with a one-car collision in the area of mile post marker 4.7 northbound on the parkway.

The operator of the vehicle, 25-year-old Frantz Estimar of Cortlandt Manor, was trapped inside of the vehicle. Hawthorne Fire Department and EMS extricated Estimar and transported him to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries.

An investigation indicated that Estimar was traveling at a high rate of speed, exited the roadway for an unknown reason, and struck a tree in the center median.

The State Police were assisted by the New York State Park Police.
