Poughkeepsie – John J. Kelly, age 76, of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, January 2, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center Poughkeepsie, NY. John was born May 11, 1940 in Amenia, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas and the late Margaret (Hatch) Kelly. He married Patricia Scotti on June 17, 1989 in Poughkeepsie, New York.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961. He retired from IBM East Fishkill in 1992 where he was a Manager.
John lived in Dutchess County most of his life. He was a devoted METS and NY Giants Fan. John Almost never missed a ball game on TV.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia (Scotti) Kelly of Poughkeepsie, NY. , his daughter Darcy Kelly of Poughkeepsie, NY., his son Brian Kelly and Fiance Chris St. Germain of Poughkeepsie, NY; his sister Mary Snelling of CT. and his granddaughter, Baylee Kramer.
John was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Armet, brother, Thomas Kelly, sister, Helev Barron, sister, Muriel Collins, and sister, Madeline Tierney.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
A memorial service will be held during the calling hours at 8:30 pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
