Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Southeast man on a drug possession charge.

On December 20, 2016 at 2:43 a.m., while being taken into custody on an unrelated matter, Joseph Rizzieri, 38, of the Town of Southeast was determined to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich arrested the man and charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant will be required to appear in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge on a future date.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
