Fixed Sobriety Checkpoint Results in DWI Arrest

On Friday, December 16th, Troopers from Troop K, Zone One conducted a Fixed Sobriety Checkpoint as part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.  The checkpoint was conducted on State Route 23B, east of the Rip VanWinkle Bridge, in the Town of Greenport, Columbia County.  As a result of the checkpoint, Aigars Kildiss, 63 yoa, of Hudson, NY was found to be intoxicated.  Mr Kildiss was taken into custody and transported to SP Livingsrton for processing.  He submitted to a breath test which resulted in a .09% BAC.   He was charged with DWI (misdemeanor) and issued tickets returnable in the Town of Greenport Justice Court.  He was released to a third party.
