Double Fatal Commercial Vehicle Accident in Montgomery

PRESS RELEASE

On 12/14/16 at approximately 6:55 am the New York State Police, Troop F, Montgomery Barracks responded to investigate a head-on collision occurring on Neelytown Road in the Town Montgomery, Orange County,  NY.

Investigation revealed that a  2014 Hino box delivery truck, being operated by  Brian A. Mettert, age 26, of Fallsburgh, New York, traveling west on Neelytown Road veered into the westbound lane striking a 2015 Freightliner tractor trailer, being operated by Everett Biggs, age 53, of Smithton, Missouri.  Both commercial truck drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained from the collision.

New York State Police were assisted at the scene by the Collision Reconstruction Unit, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, Computer Crimes Unit, Troop F Traffic Division, as well as the Town of Montgomery Police Department and the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office.  Also assisting at the scene were the Maybrook and Cambpell Hall Fire Departments and Mobile Life Paramedics.  The investigation into this commercial motor vehicle collision remains open.
