Wappinger, New York – On December 10, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 20-year-old Tajanae A. Kingwood of Wappinger, New York, for Assault 2nd Degree and Aggravated Criminal Contempt, both Class D Felonies.  Kingwood was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On December 10, 2016 at approximately 12:18 p.m., Dutchess County 911 dispatched the state police to a Wappinger residence for a reported domestic dispute.  An interview revealed that Kingwood had cut the victim with a kitchen knife following a verbal dispute. The victim refused medical treatment on scene but transported himself later in the day to a nearby treatment facility where he received sutures on his forearm.

Kingwood was charged with Aggravated Criminal Contempt when it was discovered that she violated an active court order of protection by having physical contact with the victim.

Kingwood was arraigned before Judge Sullivan in the Village of Wappinger Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.  Kingwood is scheduled to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on December 12, 2016.
