Patterson Man Faces criminal charges following

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Patterson man on criminal charges following an investigation into two incidents.

On November 17, 2016 at approximately 12:10 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Irwin arrested Joseph Ettere, 35, of 550 Route 164, Patterson and charged him with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and with Harassment in the First Degree, misdemeanors.

The arrest was the result of an investigation into two incidents (dated November 11 and November 12) in which nails were placed in the driveway of a Patterson man’s residence, causing damage to the tires of the man’s car. During the course of the investigation, Mr. Ettere was developed as a suspect. During an interview on November 17, Mr. Ettere admitted to placing the nails.

The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 for each charge.
