Spring Valley man arrested for Tampering with Evidence related to Speights homicide

PRESS RELEASE

New York State Police in Middletown announce the arrest of Rasso Chambers, 19, of Spring Valley, NY. State Police investigators arrested Chambers on November 30, 2016, and charged him with one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a felony.  The charge stems from the investigation into the murder of Justin Speights on January 1st of this year in the Town of Crawford.  Through the investigation into the murder, it was determined that Chambers deleted electronic evidence from his cell phone shortly after Speights was killed.  Chambers was arraigned before Town of Crawford Justice Jane P. Harrington and committed to Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail or $50,000.00 secured bond.
