Trooper Struck By Intoxicated Driver on Sprain Brook Parkway

On November 24, 2016, at approximately 4:40 p.m., a New York State Trooper assigned to the SP Hawthorne barracks located in Troop K was struck by an intoxicated driver while investigating an accident on the Sprain Brook Parkway. Xhevalin Lala was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired as well as numerous vehicle and traffic law infractions. It was determined that Xhevalin Lala had a blood alcohol content of .06%. The Trooper sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Westchester Medical Center.
