Troop K – In an effort to combat intoxicated and impaired drivers throughout Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Counties, the New York State Police made the following DWI arrests between Friday, November 18, 2016 and Sunday, November 20, 2016:

On November 18, 2016, State Police from Somers arrested Grace L. Bernstein, 43 years old, of Katonah, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Bernstein was stopped by police on Route 100 for speeding and was found to be intoxicated.  The defendant provided a positive breath sample that yielded a blood alcohol content of .16%.  She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Somers Court on December 5, 2016.

On November 18, 2016, State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 24-year-old Christopher J. Dilisio of North Yarmouth, Maine, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  The North Salem Police Department requested assistance conducting a collision investigation.  An investigation revealed that the defendant was intoxicated when he struck a guide rail exiting Interstate 684 at Exit 8.  Dilisio provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .13% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of North Salem Court on November 28, 2016.

On November 19, 2016, New York State Troopers from Wappinger arrested 51-year-old Kevin OFlaherty of Marlborough, NY, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.  Subsequent to a traffic stop conducted on Myers Corners Road for Speeding, OFlaherty was found to be impaired by drugs. The defendant was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on December 14, 2016.

On November 19, 2016, State Police from Wappinger charged Christina Cerutti, 22 years old, of Garrison, NY, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Troopers stopped the vehicle Cerutti was operating on Myers Corners Road for an equipment violation.  Cerutti was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop. The Defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .15% and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on December 1, 2016.

On November 19, 2016, New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks arrested 65-year-old Carmelo Masotto of Washingtonville, New York, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Masotto was arrested for DWI following a traffic stop conducted on the Sprain Brook Parkway.  The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .15% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Greenburgh Court on November 29, 2016.

On November 19, 2016, New York State Police from Hawthorne charged 50-year-old Lawrence E. Phillips of Rye, NY, with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Subsequent to a one-car property damage auto collision that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway, Phillips was found to be intoxicated.  The defendant supplied police with a breath sample yielding a Blood Alcohol Content of .18% and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on December 1, 2016.

On November 19, 2016, New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 27-year-old Ricardo Chavez Ramirez, of Purdys, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Troopers stopped Chavez Ramirez on Route 202 for operating a vehicle with a loud exhaust.  A subsequent investigation revealed that Chavez Ramirez was intoxicated at the time of the stop.  The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .14% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Somers Court on November 28, 2016.

On November 19, 2016, the New York State Police from Cortlandt arrested 47-year-old Lisa Martin, of Peekskill, New York, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Martin was arrested for DWI after Trooper stopped the vehicle she was operating on Route 9 for failing to maintain her designated lane of travel.  The defendant was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the City of Peekskill Justice Court on November 28, 2016.

On November 20, 2016, New York State Police from Wappinger charged Jose Santiago, 44 years old, of Beacon, NY, with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony.  Troopers stopped Santiago on Schenck Avenue for failing to maintain his lane of travel. Further investigation revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop.  Santiago was charged with Felony DWI due to a previous DWI related conviction from 2014.  Santiago provided a breath sample revealing a BAC of .19% and is due to appear in the City of Beacon Court on November 28, 2016.

On November 20, 2016, New York State Police from Dover arrested Kevin M. O’Gorman, age 54, of Brewster, New York, for DWI, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, both misdemeanors.  O’Gorman was stopped by police on State Route 22 for failing to maintain his designated lane.  A subsequent investigation revealed that he was intoxicated and possessed cocaine at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .15% and was directed to appear in the Town of Pawling Court on December 1, 2016.

On November 20, 2016, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 40-year-old Jorge Mendez-Vasquez, of Dover, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony.  Mendez-Vasquez was arrested for DWI following a traffic stop conducted on Route 22 for a traffic violation. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .14%.  He was charged with Felony DWI due to a prior DWI related conviction from within the previous 10 years.  Mendez-Vasquez was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail on $3,500 cash bail.

On November 20, 2016, Troopers from Brewster charged 50-year-old Jaime Davila, of Mahopac, NY, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Subsequent to a traffic stop conducted on State Route 6, Davila was arrested for DWI. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a BAC of .14% and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Court on December 6, 2016.

On November 20, 2016, State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 26-year-old Mario Mota Magno of Dobbs Ferry, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Mota Magno was charged with DWI after Troopers were dispatched to assist a disabled motorist on Interstate 684. The defendant, who was operating the disable vehicle, provided a breath sample that revealed a BAC of .12%.  He was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of North Castle Court on December 6, 2016.

Intoxicated and impaired drivers put others at risk.  It is a priority of the State Police to keep impaired drivers off of our roadways so law-abiding citizens can safely travel throughout our four county patrol area.
