Dover Plains – Margery E. Mill, 79, passed away on Thursday November 10, 2016 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. Born on October 30, 1937 in Mahopac, NY, Margery was the daughter of the late Raymond and Avis Barnes Benedict. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by a brother, William Benedict and three sisters, Sharon Collins, Lynn Benedict and Kathleen Barger.

Margery graduated from Mahopac High School and on November 5, 1955 she married Andrew T. Mill who died in 2005. Margery and Andrew lived and raised their family in Brewster, NY where they owned and operated a dairy farm. In 1985 they moved to Cricket Hill in Dover Plains NY so Margery could indulge in her many talents by renovating an old house into a charming bed and breakfast known as The Mill Farm where she was the proprietor. Her hospitality was appreciated by both friends and strangers and many were touched by her generous spirit. In later years Margery also became a real estate agent for Preston Mountain Realty and then Ferris Realty.

For almost 50 years, Margery was an active member and supporter of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pawling, Carmel, Millerton and Dover Plains.

It was her great joy and love for Jehovah God and neighbor that inspired her to share her beliefs with all those she met. This made her well known in the community as a woman of faith and she taught many to appreciate the relevance of the Bible in their lives.
