Maine man arrested for drug possession following traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE

New Lebanon, New York – On November 1, 2016, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Andrew T. Evensen, 25 years old, of Poland, Maine, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Misdemeanor, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

At approximately 2:44 p.m., Troopers stopped Evensen on State Route 20, for not wearing his seatbelt. A subsequent investigation revealed that Evensen possessed approximately 20 grams of marihuana, an estimated .8 grams of marihuana wax, about 21.4 grams of hashish, approximately 8.3 grams of MDMA, and 1.5 ounces of marihuana salve.

The defendant was arraigned before the Honorable Jessica Byrne in the Town of New Lebanon Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
