Poughkeepsie man arrested as a fugitive from justice following traffic stop

Wappinger, New York – On October 19, 2016, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Herbert L. Bell Jr., age 34, of Poughkeepsie, New York, as a Fugitive from Justice.

On October 19, 2016, at about 10:56 a.m., Troopers stopped Bell for speeding on New Hackensack Road in the Town of Wappinger. An investigation revealed that Bell was wanted for a Violation of Probation Bench Warrant stemming from a conviction of Theft by Deception, a Felony, in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Bell was arraigned at the Dutchess County Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. His next appearance was scheduled for October 24, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.
