Vivian H. Darling, 83 of Pleasant Valley, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her home.
Born in Poughkeepsie,NY on May 30, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Verbal and Jennie Ferris Hidlebaugh.
Vivian worked at home raising and caring for her 3 children until they were grown. She then worked for Vassar College in the alumnae office and the campus post office. She retired in 2008.
Vivian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved gardening, creating photo albums for her family, antiquing and local historical archiving. She was a member of the Millbrook Historical Society.
Vivian is survived by her 3 children; Glen Darling and his wife Joyce of Staatsburg, Lori Mandy and her husband Mike of Salt Point and Scott Darling and his wife Susan of Clermont; her 6 grandchildren, Michael Mandy, Caitlin Wilson, Matt and Andrew Darling and Lauren and Victoria Darling; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Lynn Darling and her sister Margaret Hidlebaugh.
Visitation will be Monday, October 24 from 4-7 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 10:30 am from Grace Episcopal Church, Millbrook. Interment will follow in Verbank Cemetery.
