LaGrange, New York – On October 19, 2016, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Damaris Arocho, age 41, of the Bronx, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On March 19, 2016, Troopers were dispatched to the Chase Bank, located on Freedom Plains Road, to investigate a fraud complaint.  Bank employees reported that an unknown female subject entered the bank with a counterfeit Connecticut driver’s license and portrayed herself as a Chase Bank account holder.  The female attempted to withdrawal $1,400 from an account and fled on foot when she overheard bank employees contacting the actual account holder by telephone to verify the transaction.

Following a lengthy investigation, Arocho was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued ordering her Arrest in September of 2016.  The defendant was taken into custody in the City of White Plains Court where she appeared for an unrelated court appearance.

Arocho was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. She is scheduled to appear in LaGrange Court on November 1, 2016.
