West Virginia man arrested for possessing two handguns

PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police announce the arrest of David Q Hines, age 23, of Shepherdstown, WV. Hines was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, as well as other Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations.

Following a Vehicle and Traffic stop for Speeding, Mr. Hines was found to be in possession of a Taurus .38 caliber pistol and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber pistol. Hines purchased the weapons in West Virginia and transported them to the New York area without a pistol permit.

Hines was arraigned in Town of Montgomery Court in front of Town Justice Gorss and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $2,500 bail.
