Flu Vaccinations are Available

As flu season approaches, Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro reminds you now is a great time protect yourself against the disease.

fluThe best way to prevent the flu is by getting a vaccination each year, just like County Executive Molinaro did last week. Traditional flu shots are manufactured based on influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the season. This includes an influenza A (H1N1) virus, an influenza A (H3N2) virus, and two influenza B viruses.

Flu shots are readily available throughout the area, including at local doctor’s offices and pharmacies.

The Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health Clinic will be offering flu vaccines for the uninsured by appointment on Mondays at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie. To schedule an appointment or for more information, please call 845-486-3535 or email clinics@DutchessNY.gov.
