Obituary, Louise Karpf

 

Stanfordville, NY – Louise Karpf, 95, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.

She was born on July 23, 1921 in Bakony Oszlop, Hungary.

They escaped Communist Hungary in 1941 and moved to Austria. There they had four children. In 1955 they immigrated to the United States where they settled in Bangall. They had their fifth child. Louise’s and her husband built their home in 1963 in Stanfordville.

She was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bangall. She loved the Stanford Grange dinners and was a member of Stanford Forever Young Club.

Grandma as she was called was always up for fun especially sleigh riding with her grandchildren or playing cards. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

On September 23, 1938 in Hungary she married Alexander Karpf Sr. He predeceased her on August 25, 1986.

Survivors include her three daughters, Theresa Pinczes of Standfordville, NY; Erika McManus of Cairo, NY; Anna Ahlf of Stanfordville, NY; two sons, Alexander Karpf Jr. of Zebulon, NC; Roger Karpf of Stanfordville, NY. eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Magdalen Decker of Stanfordville, NY; and two brothers, Frank and Mike.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at 7749 S Main St, Pine Plains.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, October 7, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Church, 15 North Ave. Millbrook, NY with Msgr. Gerardo J. Colacicco, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery / Bangall, NY.
